Our BMW 5 series fleet in Paris
Showing 1-1 of 1 carsThe BMW 5 Series is the car we hand over when someone wants an executive saloon for Paris that stays composed on a long autoroute run and still looks right pulling up to a meeting. We deliver our 5 Series rentals to your door, hotel or office anywhere in Paris, and the car you book is the car you get, never a “similar” model swapped in at a counter.
It seats five, takes a week of luggage for two without complaint, and it’s as quiet at motorway speed as it is crawling along the quais. Below is when it makes sense, how it copes with the city, and what renting one from us involves.
What the 5 Series is good at
The 5 Series sits a class above the everyday rental saloon, and most people pick it for one of two reasons. The first is a business trip, where the car is part of the impression you make. The second is a longer drive out of Paris, where three or four hours of comfort matter more than slipping into a tight parking space. It does both well.
The cabin is quiet, the seats stay comfortable over distance, and the ride holds steady on the autoroute whether you’re heading to Reims, Deauville or down towards the Loire. If you only need to run errands around the centre, this is more car than the job calls for, and something smaller is cheaper to rent and easier to park. We’ll tell you that when you ask.
Space, seats and luggage
Five seats, and the back is usable for three adults on a short hop or two in real comfort over a longer one. The boot holds around 520 litres. In practice that’s two large suitcases standing upright with room left for soft bags and a laptop case.
For a couple with a week away, or two colleagues with cabin bags and a suit carrier, it’s more than enough. Where it runs out is the full-family load: four people, four big cases and a pushchair will be happier in an estate or one of our larger SUVs, and we can point you to one.
Driving and parking it in Paris
For its size, the 5 Series is easy to drive. The steering is light at parking speed, the cameras and sensors are genuinely useful, and it shrinks around you once you’re moving. The current car is over five metres long, though, so a narrow Marais side street or a small underground car park takes a little care.
Where it belongs is the périphérique and the autoroute, stable and hushed and relaxed at French motorway speeds for hours at a stretch. Its closest rival on the road, and at the rental desk, is the Mercedes E-Class, and choosing between them mostly comes down to which cabin you prefer.
The ZFE and the electric i5
Central Paris runs a low-emission zone, the ZFE, and your car needs the right Crit’Air rating to drive into it on weekdays. A current 5 Series qualifies, so a trip into the centre is no problem. If most of your driving is inside that zone and you’d rather not think about fuel or emissions at all, the 5 Series range also includes the fully electric i5, which carries the green sticker. Ask us about it when you book, since availability moves around.
Renting one from us
We bring the car to you. Pick a time and an address anywhere in Paris, whether that’s a hotel, an apartment, an office or the airport, and we hand the 5 Series over there instead of making you queue at a desk. We don’t block a deposit on your card either, which is the part most people don’t expect.
Firms that advertise a low daily rate usually hold a large sum against a credit card for the whole rental, and on a car in this class that hold runs well into the thousands. We take debit cards, and mileage is unlimited, so a run down to the Loire and back doesn’t change what you pay. For a comparison across the rest of the range, our full BMW rental Paris lineup is the place to start.
What to have ready at the handover
- A full driving licence you’ve held for the minimum period, which we confirm against your booking.
- A passport or national ID for the main driver.
- The payment card in the driver’s name, debit or credit.
- Your booking confirmation, which can stay on your phone.
If your trip is mostly business or mostly motorway, the 5 Series is the easy call. Send us the dates and the address, and we’ll have it waiting.
