How it works with us
You set the pickup point in Paris and the return point wherever the trip ends, and the price you confirm is the price you pay. Whether a fee applies depends on the pair of cities involved, so the honest answer on cost is always the quote for your exact route. Unlimited mileage is included either way, so the kilometres themselves cost nothing extra. The car still comes back with the fuel level it left with, and the licence, ID and card requirements are the same as any other rental.
When one way beats the train
The TGV wins if you're one or two people going centre to centre with a suitcase each. We say that plainly because pretending otherwise sells rentals that disappoint.

Count the tolls honestly when you compare. Paris to the south coast is a serious péage bill on top of fuel, and both are yours.
Which car for a long run
For the autoroute, pick something built for it. The Peugeot 508 at 110 € a day or the Volkswagen Passat Variant at 106 € will do 700 km without wearing you out, and the Passat swallows a house-move's worth of boxes. The 308 SW at 86 € is the value pick when the load is normal luggage. A group relocating together can take the nine-seat Renault Trafic at 126 € and move everyone in one vehicle.
We'd skip the Twingo for this job. It's a city car, and 55 € a day stops being cheap when you're doing 130 on the A7 wishing you'd taken the 208 or better.

How much is the one-way fee from Paris?
The fee depends on the drop-off city, so you'll see the exact figure during booking once you've entered both locations. Some routes carry no fee at all. Longer or less common ones do. If you're comparing routes, run two or three quotes and let the totals decide.
Can I drop the car in another country?
Sometimes, but you must tell us the destination when you book, not at pickup. Cross-border drop-offs carry different conditions and higher fees than domestic ones, and some destinations aren't possible at all. Driving abroad and returning the car in France is a separate, simpler case that mostly just needs your itinerary declared. Do I pay for the kilometres on a one-way rental?
No, unlimited mileage applies to one-way rentals just as it does to returns. Your variable costs on the road are fuel and péage tolls, both paid by you as you go. On a Paris to Marseille run those two together are a real line in the budget, so include them when comparing against train fares for your group.
Which drop-off cities are available from Paris?
Enter your destination in the booking engine and it will tell you straight away whether that pairing works. Major cities are the reliable ones. Marseille is the route we quote most. If your exact destination isn't offered, check the nearest large city, since a short local leg at the far end often still beats restructuring the whole trip.
How far ahead should I book a one-way rental?
Earlier than a normal rental, because one-way availability depends on fleet balance between two cities, not just one. A week ahead is usually comfortable outside holidays. For July, August or a school-holiday Saturday, book as soon as the dates are fixed. Cancellation stays free until two days before pickup, so booking early carries no risk if plans move.
