What two or three days cost
For a couple with soft bags, the Peugeot 208 at 62 € a day is the answer to most weekends. Four people with proper luggage should go straight to the 308 SW estate at 86 €. The boot takes the difference in stride. The Renault Captur at 89 € sits between them if you prefer the higher seat.

Where the weekend goes
The classic runs from Paris sort themselves by autoroute. The A13 puts Honfleur and the Normandy coast about two hours out, and Deauville a little past that. The A6 opens Burgundy for a wine weekend. The A4 reaches Reims and the Champagne route in under two hours. All of them are péage roads, so keep a bank card handy at the barriers, and remember the 130 km/h motorway limit drops to 110 in the rain.
One piece of desk advice we repeat every week: don't fight the Friday exodus. Leaving Paris between five and eight on a Friday evening can cost you two hours on the périphérique alone. Either leave before three, or have the car delivered Saturday at dawn and start fresh. The rental usually costs the same. The weekend feels twice as long.
Booking it without wasting money
Book the car by midweek. Weekend demand is the most predictable spike in this business, and the small cheap cars are the first ones gone. By Thursday the 208s are usually spoken for and what's left is bigger and dearer. Booking early costs nothing to change your mind on, since cancellation stays free until two days before pickup.
Return timing matters more than people think. A Monday morning return often prices the same as Sunday night because of how rental days count, so check both before deciding when the weekend ends. And if the plan is one long drive rather than a return trip, a one-way rental to another city can replace the drive back entirely.

Evening slots vary by location and demand, so tell us your preferred time when you book. If Friday evening is tight, consider a Saturday morning delivery instead. You skip the périphérique at its worst and lose very little of the weekend.
Is mileage limited on a weekend rental?
No, unlimited mileage is included by default, so a Paris to Normandy round trip or a longer Burgundy loop changes nothing on the bill. Fuel is yours to manage: the car arrives with a known level and comes back at the same level, usually full to full. On péage routes, budget the tolls separately since those are always paid by the driver.
Which car should two people take to the coast in June?
The honest answer is the C-Class Cabriolet at 206 € a day if the budget allows, because the A13 and the corniche roads are where a convertible earns its price. If that's too much for the weekend, the 208 at 62 € does the same trip in comfort and leaves more for the seafood. Book either one well ahead in June. Both ends of that spectrum sell out first.
