Our Peugeot 5008 fleet in Paris
Showing 1-1 of 1 carsThe Peugeot 5008 is Peugeot's seven-seat SUV, and we rent it in Paris with delivery to wherever you're staying. You book online, we bring the car to your address or to the airport, and you drive off without queuing at a desk.
This page covers the 5008 as a rental car: how usable the third row really is, what fits in the boot, and whether a car this size makes sense for getting around the city. It's the largest people-carrier in our Peugeot line-up, so most people booking it need the seats, the load space, or both. If you don't, we'll tell you.
Seven seats, and who actually fits in them
The 5008 is a true seven-seater, but the layout is what Peugeot calls a 5+2. The two rearmost seats fold up out of the boot floor and are best treated as occasional. Kids ride back there happily on a school run or a day out. Adults will cope with a short hop across town, though knee room is tight and climbing in past the middle row takes a moment.
For five people the car is roomy, with proper space in the second row and a flat floor. So the practical read is this: book it as a spacious five-seater that can carry seven when it has to, not as a full-time seven-adult bus.
Luggage: a big boot with five up, almost none with seven
Boot space is the 5008's strong suit, with one caveat. Fold the third row away and you get more than 700 litres behind the second seats, among the largest in the seven-seat class. That takes a family's luggage for a week, or two big suitcases and a stack of soft bags with room to spare.
Raise all seven seats and the boot shrinks to a token slot, enough for a few rucksacks and little else. The middle and rear seats fold flat too, so the 5008 turns into a load-hauler for a furniture run or a couple of bikes.
In practice that gives you three ways to pack it:
- Five seats up, full boot: a week of luggage for a family, or the weekly shop plus a pushchair.
- Seven seats up, minimal boot: people first, with only soft bags squeezed in around them.
- Rear seats folded, flat load bay: flat-pack furniture, two bikes, or moving-day boxes.
Living with a big SUV in Paris
A 5008 is not a city car. It runs comfortably over four and a half metres long and it's wide with it, so on-street parking inside the Périphérique means choosing your spaces and leaning on the cameras and sensors. Underground car parks are fine, though the older ones have low height barriers worth checking.
Out on the motorway and the toll roads toward Normandy or the Loire it settles down, quiet and stable with seven aboard. It's one of the larger options in our SUV range, and that size is the trade-off for the space. If your whole trip is short hops around the 1st or 2nd arrondissement, this is more car than you want.
Crit'Air and the low-emission zone
Paris runs a low-emission zone, and you need a Crit'Air sticker to drive inside it. Every 5008 we rent carries the right one, so you won't be turned back at the boundary. Petrol and hybrid versions are Crit'Air 1, and the fully electric e-5008 is a Crit'Air 0. Either way you're clear for the current Paris rules, including the days when restrictions tighten on older cars.
5008 or 3008: which to book
The 5008 shares most of its design with the five-seat 3008, just stretched to add the third row and a longer boot. If you rarely carry more than four people, the 3008 is easier to park and live with day to day, and it still has a large boot. Pick the 5008 when the extra two seats earn their keep: grandparents along for a weekend, two families sharing one car, or a team's worth of kit and bags. They sit side by side in the range, so compare both before you commit.
How you get the car
Booking the 5008 with us is straightforward. We deliver it to your home, your hotel, or one of the Paris airports, you check it over, and you sign for it there. You get the actual 5008, not a “similar SUV” picked at a counter.
There's no deposit held against your card, we take debit as well as credit, and the mileage isn't capped, so a week touring outside Paris adds no surcharge. To see how it sits against the rest of the marque, our Peugeot rental Paris page lists every model we carry.
